State of AI Apps Report 2025 is Live!
In the second quarter of 2023, the performance of the top five social apps in the United Arab Emirates exhibited a range of trends in terms of weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. This data, provided by Sensor Tower, offers valuable insights into the popularity and financial success of these apps.
TikTok saw a notable performance in terms of revenue, peaking at approximately $836K in the final week of June. Weekly revenue fluctuated throughout the quarter, starting from around $710K at the end of March. Downloads for TikTok varied, reaching a high of 102K in the last week of June. The app also maintained a strong user base, with active users increasing from 5.7M at the end of March to over 6.3M by the end of June.
Facebook, published by Meta Platforms, Inc., experienced an increase in weekly revenue, culminating at around $20.6K in the last week of June. Download numbers showed a slight decline mid-quarter but ended strong with 58K downloads in the final week. Active users for Facebook remained consistently high, hovering around 6.7M throughout the quarter.
Instagram had a steady increase in revenue, reaching nearly $3.9K by the end of June. The app's downloads fluctuated, peaking at 57K in mid-April and ending the quarter with 52K. Active users showed a slight increase, maintaining around 2.8M users by the end of June.
Bigo Live - Live Streaming App saw its revenue peak at approximately $92K in late May, with another high of $90K at the end of June. Downloads were relatively stable, with a small peak of 16K in the last week of June. Active users for Bigo Live remained steady, ending the quarter with about 199K users.
Chamet - Live Video Chat experienced a notable increase in revenue, peaking at around $86K in early June. Downloads were fairly stable, with a high of 14K in early April and ending the quarter with just under 10K. Active users for Chamet showed a slight increase, reaching 60.5K by the end of June.
