In the third quarter of 2023, the top finance applications on the iOS platform in the United States showed varied performance trends, according to data from Sensor Tower.
Cash App experienced a consistent pattern in weekly downloads, ranging from approximately 290K to 340K. The highest downloads were recorded in the week of July 10 at around 341K. Weekly active users fluctuated slightly, starting the quarter at 13.6M and ending at around 13.1M.
PayPal - Pay, Send, Save also had steady weekly downloads, peaking at nearly 290K in early July and maintaining a range between 213K and 290K throughout the quarter. Active users showed a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, rising from 5.9M to 6.0M by late September.
Venmo saw weekly downloads between 219K and 249K, with a notable peak of 249K in mid-August. The app's active user base showed some fluctuations, initially at 12.0M in late June, dipping to 10.8M in mid-September, and recovering to 11.5M by the end of the quarter.
Zelle exhibited a stable download trend, with numbers ranging from 181K to 217K. Downloads peaked in the week of June 26 at 217K. The weekly active users varied slightly, starting at around 898K and ending the quarter at approximately 855K.
Capital One Mobile had weekly downloads that ranged from 147K to 168K, with a peak in the last week of June at 169K. Active users showed a slight downward trend, beginning at 6.6M in late June and ending at 6.6M in late September.
