In the third quarter of 2023, the top five iOS navigation and maps applications in Russia displayed diverse performance trends across downloads, revenue, and weekly active users. Here’s a closer look at their performance based on Sensor Tower data.

Yandex Maps & Navigator saw a fluctuating revenue trend, starting at around $3.1K at the end of June and peaking again at the same amount in early September before ending the quarter at approximately $2.3K. Downloads for the app were strong, with a peak of 103K in late August, although they declined towards the end of the quarter, reaching about 63K. Weekly active users showed a steady increase, reaching a high of approximately 2.8M in late August before stabilizing around 2.7M at the end of September.

2GIS: Offline Map & Navigation did not generate revenue during this period. However, the app maintained a relatively stable download rate, peaking at 97K in late July. The weekly active users for 2GIS showed a gradual increase, reaching around 1.5M by the end of August, before decreasing slightly to approximately 1.4M at the end of the quarter.

Google Maps also did not report any revenue. The app’s downloads peaked at around 56K in mid-July, with a gradual decline to approximately 35K by the end of September. Weekly active users saw a peak of around 3.9M in early July, tapering off to about 3.2M by the end of the quarter.

Yandex Navi – navigation, maps experienced a steady revenue stream, starting at about $11.5K at the end of June and peaking at approximately $12.1K in the final week of September. Downloads showed a downward trend, starting at around 35K in late June and declining to approximately 27K by the end of the quarter. The app’s weekly active users peaked at around 1M in late July, but saw a decline to approximately 904K by the end of September.

MAPS.ME: Offline Maps, GPS Nav had modest revenue, peaking at about $92 in the final week of September. Downloads for the app showed a downward trend, starting at around 14K at the end of June and dropping to approximately 9K by the end of the quarter. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, peaking at around 65K in early August and ending the quarter at approximately 54K.
