The third quarter of 2023 saw notable trends in the carpooling and ridesharing app market in Europe. Based on data from Sensor Tower, here's a detailed look at the performance of the top 5 apps on a unified platform.
Request a ride experienced a consistent decline in weekly downloads, starting at around 611K in late June and dropping to approximately 522K by the end of September. Weekly active users also fluctuated, beginning at 11.8M and ending the quarter at about 11.2M.
Bolt: Request a Ride saw a mixed trend in weekly downloads, with numbers peaking in mid-August at 442K before settling at around 391K by the end of September. The app's active user base showed a positive trend, growing from 3M in late June to approximately 3.1M by the end of the quarter.
Yandex Go: Taxi Food Delivery experienced a decline in weekly downloads, starting at 335K and ending at around 243K. Active users also saw a decrease, beginning at 6.4M and dropping to approximately 5.9M by the end of September.
BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus showed a consistent decline in weekly downloads, from 244K in late June to 176K by the end of September. Active users also followed a downward trend, moving from 1.34M to about 1.2M over the quarter.
inDrive. Save on city rides observed a notable decrease in weekly downloads, starting at 93K and ending at around 59K. Active users also saw a significant drop, from 951K in late June to approximately 436K by the end of September.
