The third quarter of 2023 saw significant activity among the top carpooling and ridesharing apps in Norway. Here's a detailed look at the performance of the top 5 apps on a unified platform, with data sourced from Sensor Tower.
Bolt: Request a Ride, published by BOLT TECHNOLOGY OU, showed a noticeable trend in weekly downloads and active users. Weekly downloads started at approximately 7.7K in late June and gradually decreased to around 4.1K by the end of September. The app's weekly active users mirrored this trend, beginning at about 26.6K and ending the quarter at roughly 22.9K.
Uber - Request a ride, from Uber Technologies, Inc., also experienced fluctuations. Weekly downloads began at around 6.5K in late June, dropping to approximately 3.7K by the end of September. Active users remained relatively stable, starting at about 165K and ending the quarter slightly higher at approximately 175K.
Yango: taxi, food, delivery, published by YHub ZAF (Pty) Ltd, had a varied performance. Weekly downloads saw a peak of about 1.2K in late August, before falling to around 557 by the end of September. The app's weekly active users followed a similar pattern, peaking at around 2.8K in late August and decreasing to roughly 2K by the end of September.
Cabify, from Maxi Mobility, Inc., had a modest performance in comparison. Weekly downloads started at approximately 383 in late June and dropped to around 195 by the end of September. Active users showed a similar trend, beginning at about 825 and declining to around 642 by the end of the quarter.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver, also from Uber Technologies, Inc., displayed steady metrics. Weekly downloads started at around 274 in late June and ended the quarter at approximately 232. Active users remained stable throughout the quarter, starting at about 3.6K and ending at roughly 3.6K as well.
