The third quarter of 2023 saw notable performance trends among the top 5 dating apps in the United States. Here's a closer look at their downloads, revenue, and active user metrics, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Tinder experienced fluctuating revenue throughout Q3, peaking at approximately $8.3M in the week of July 3 and ending the quarter at around $7.7M. Downloads showed a slight downward trend, starting at 208K in late June and closing the quarter at 200K. Weekly active users also saw a gradual decline from 6.8M to 6.2M over the same period.
Bumble's revenue displayed a steady increase, starting at $5.6M in late June and rising to $5.9M by the end of September. Download numbers remained relatively stable, fluctuating around 170K, with a slight dip to 149K in late August. Weekly active users showed minor variations, ranging from 4.3M to 4.1M throughout the quarter.
Hinge's revenue saw a gradual decrease from $3.7M in late June to $3.4M by the end of September. Downloads were fairly consistent, starting at 143K and ending the quarter at 151K. Weekly active users remained stable, hovering around 3.7M throughout the quarter.
Wizz App's revenue peaked at $474K in mid-July and then saw a decline to $375K by the end of September. Downloads followed a similar pattern, starting at 115K in late June and decreasing to 71K by the end of the quarter. Weekly active users showed a slight increase, starting at 1.5M and ending at 1.5M.
Plenty of Fish experienced fluctuating revenue, starting at $435K in late June and rising to $465K by the end of September. Downloads saw a downward trend, starting at 65K and ending at 54K. Weekly active users showed some variability, peaking at 744K in mid-September before closing the quarter at 660K.
