The Australian Android market for dating apps has seen varied performances across top apps in the fourth quarter of 2023. Data provided by Sensor Tower gives us an overview of how these apps have been faring in terms of downloads, revenue, and user activity.
Bumble experienced a rise in revenue from $80K to $91K by the end of Q4. Downloads saw an upward trend, with numbers increasing from around 4K to nearly 5K. The app's weekly active users fluctuated, peaking at 225K and dipping to 199K before climbing back to 218K.
Hinge's revenue also showed growth, starting at $58K and reaching $66K by the quarter's end. Downloads remained steady, ranging from 3K to 3.7K. The app's weekly active users saw a high of 150K and a low of 136K, ending the quarter at nearly 148K.
Tinder, one of the most popular dating apps, maintained a strong revenue trend, starting at $142K and spiking to $165K in mid-December before settling at $140K. Downloads varied, with a slight increase from 3.7K to just over 4K. The app’s active user base remained robust, hovering around 400K to 425K throughout the quarter.
Boo saw modest revenue figures, beginning at $2.6K and ending at $3.1K. Downloads witnessed a dip mid-quarter but recovered to 1.4K. Weekly active users started at 3.1K, decreased to around 2.6K, and slightly increased to approximately 2.8K by the quarter's end.
Plenty of Fish, with revenue data showing zero except for negligible amounts in some weeks, focused on downloads and user engagement. Downloads began at 1.7K, saw some fluctuation, and ended at 1.6K. Active users started at 16.5K, peaked at 19.6K, and closed the quarter around 16.5K.
