As the year 2023 drew to a close, the food delivery service sector in Latin America displayed a mix of ascending and descending trends across the top applications on the Android platform. Sensor Tower's data provides us with a comprehensive look at these shifts.
Ifood comida e mercado em casa maintained strong performance, with downloads peaking at 219K in late October and then showing a slight decline to 192K by the year's end. Weekly active users saw an initial increase from 9.5M to nearly 9.9M in mid-November before a dip to 8.8M towards the quarter’s conclusion.
PedidosYa - Delivery Online, originating from Uruguay, experienced a rise in downloads, reaching 170K in late October, yet concluded the quarter with a decrease to 139K. The weekly active user count for the app began at 4M and increased to over 4.1M in early November but witnessed a drop-off to 3.7M by the end of December.
Rappi: Food Delivery, Grocery saw its downloads fluctuate, with a high of 161K in the last week of December, despite starting the quarter with a stronger 156K. The active user base showed a gradual decline from 3.6M at the start of the quarter to 3.3M by the festive period.
Uber Eats: Food Delivery had its ups and downs in the download department, hitting a peak of 93K towards the end of October and closing off the quarter with a significant leap to 101K. Weekly active users remained relatively stable around the 1.2M mark, then experienced a decline, ending the quarter at just over 1M.
Lastly, iFood para Entregadores, an app designed for delivery personnel, showed a relatively stable download pattern, with a slight peak at 56K in mid-October. The weekly active users hovered around the 240K mark for much of the quarter, with a noticeable dip to 201K in mid-December before rising back to 220K.
