In the fourth quarter of 2023, the top 5 travel and local apps on the Android platform in Europe exhibited diverse performance trends in terms of weekly downloads and active users. Data from Sensor Tower reveals intriguing insights into the usage patterns of these popular apps.
Booking.com: Hotels & Travel saw a fluctuating trend in weekly downloads, starting the quarter strong with approximately 216K downloads and ending with a similar figure around Christmas. However, there was a noticeable dip mid-quarter, reaching a low of about 145K. Weekly active users also showed variability, beginning at around 9.3M and experiencing a dip to 7.6M before bouncing back to roughly 9.2M by the end of December.
Airbnb maintained a relatively stable download rate throughout Q4, hovering between 107K and 141K downloads weekly. The number of active users followed a similar pattern, starting the quarter at approximately 2.9M, dipping to about 2.4M mid-quarter, and rising back to 2.9M by the end of December.
Yandex Navigator experienced a slight decline in weekly downloads, starting at around 126K and dropping to around 119K by the end of the quarter. Weekly active users mirrored this trend, beginning at approximately 3.5M and gradually decreasing to about 3M.
Google Earth demonstrated a consistent performance in weekly downloads, maintaining figures around 90K to 107K. Active users fluctuated slightly, starting at about 1.1M, dipping to around 913K, and then rising back to approximately 1.1M by the end of the quarter.
Ryanair exhibited a downward trend in weekly downloads, starting at around 128K and ending the quarter at approximately 95K. The number of active users showed a similar pattern, starting at about 683K, decreasing to 595K mid-quarter, and then rising slightly to 654K by the end of December.
