State of AI Apps Report 2025 is Live!
As the year 2023 wrapped up its final quarter, the air travel app market on iOS in Europe saw varied performances. Sensor Tower's data provides us with a clear view of how the top apps fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.
Ryanair, the popular low-cost airline from Ireland, showed a steady revenue trend, starting at $56M in the last week of September and peaking at $71M during the Christmas week. Downloads began at roughly 127K in late September, dipping to 86K in early December, before rebounding to over 106K by year's end. Weekly active users remained robust, starting at 618K and showing some fluctuations before ending slightly lower at 598K.
Flightradar24 | Flight Tracker, based in Sweden, experienced a revenue trajectory that began at $142K and concluded the quarter at $100K. Downloads for the app started at 85K and showed a gradual decrease, ending at 101K after a dip to 55K in early December. Active users for Flightradar24 showed a decline from 587K to 560K over the quarter.
The easyJet: Travel App, with no revenue reported, saw downloads starting at around 74K and ending the quarter on a slight rise at 60K, after falling to 52K in mid-December. Interestingly, weekly active users showed more volatility, beginning at 460K, peaking at 517K in early October, and then ending the year at 478K.
Wizz Air - Book Flights also reported no revenue but maintained a consistent download count throughout the quarter, starting at 57K and ending at a higher 61K. Active users showed a slight upward trend, starting at 273K and growing to 292K by the end of December.
Lastly, Lufthansa, the flagship carrier of Germany, also with no revenue to report, showed a downloads count beginning at 34K, dipping to 28K, and closing the quarter at 26K. Weekly active users started at 208K, peaked at 217K in late November, and ended the year at 199K.
