In the fourth quarter of 2023, the performance of the top navigation and maps applications on the iOS platform in Peru demonstrated interesting trends in downloads and weekly active users. The data, provided by Sensor Tower, offers a detailed look at the top five apps in this category.
Google Maps maintained its dominance with notable download numbers. The downloads fluctuated throughout the quarter, peaking at approximately 22K during the week of November 13. Weekly active users remained robust, with a slight increase from around 674K at the start of the quarter to approximately 714K by December 18.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic also showed consistent performance. Downloads grew steadily, reaching a high of about 3.7K in the week of December 18. The app's weekly active users saw a gradual rise, starting from around 218K and ending the quarter at approximately 232K.
Google Earth experienced modest download numbers throughout the quarter, with a slight decline from around 853 in late September to about 560 in the last week of December. The weekly active users followed a similar pattern, starting at approximately 5.6K and ending at just under 5K.
MAPS.ME: Offline Maps, GPS Nav saw a gradual increase in revenue, peaking at $32 in the week of November 27. Downloads were relatively stable, with a small increase from around 226 to 176 over the quarter. Weekly active users hovered around 900, peaking at approximately 1K in early October.
Avenza Maps: Offline Mapping had the most fluctuating performance in terms of revenue, with the highest weekly revenue of $102 in late September. Downloads varied, with notable peaks of around 127 in late October and 94 in early December. Weekly active users showed a slight decline, starting at 133 and ending at 71 by the end of December.
