In the fourth quarter of 2023, the top navigation and maps apps on iOS in Sweden demonstrated varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users. Here’s a closer look at the data from Sensor Tower for the top five apps: Google Maps, Google Earth, Waze Navigation & Live Traffic, MAPS.ME: Offline Maps, GPS Nav, and TomTom GO Navigation.
Google Maps saw fluctuating downloads throughout the quarter, peaking at around 12.4K in late September and dipping to approximately 6.6K in mid-December. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, starting at around 2.2M and ending the quarter slightly lower at 2M.
Google Earth experienced a steady download rate, with numbers ranging from 2.4K in late September to 2.1K by the end of December. Active user counts were consistent as well, with a slight increase from 24.4K to 22.6K over the same period.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic had varied download figures, peaking at about 2.4K in late December. Active users showed minor fluctuations, starting at 147K in late September and ending at 145K in December.
MAPS.ME: Offline Maps, GPS Nav saw a consistent download rate, with figures around 245 in late September and ending the quarter at 240. Revenue peaked at $8 in mid-October but dropped to zero by the end of December. Active users slightly declined from 1.2K to 1.1K throughout the quarter.
TomTom GO Navigation experienced a notable revenue trend, starting at approximately $3.5K in late September and ending the quarter at around $3.1K. Downloads were modest, peaking at 231 in mid-October. Active users showed minor fluctuations, starting at 1.3K and ending at 1K.
