As the year 2023 wrapped up, the beauty retail market saw significant user interactions across its top applications in the United Kingdom. Sensor Tower offers a comprehensive look at how these apps performed in terms of downloads and weekly active users.
Superdrug experienced a steady increase in downloads, starting at 29K and peaking at 53K in the final week of December. Likewise, its weekly active users grew from 66K to an impressive 108K by the end of Q4.
LOOKFANTASTIC: Beauty & Makeup downloads fluctuated, with a notable peak at 41K in November before settling at 25K during the Christmas week. The app maintained a robust active user base, starting at 113K and reaching a high of 155K, before closing the quarter at 137K active users.
Feelunique: Limitless Beauty saw downloads begin at 26K, dipping to 16K, and then surging to 35K by year's end. Weekly active users showed a positive trend, starting at 126K and rising to 152K in the final week of December.
Cult Beauty: Beauty & Makeup had a more varied quarter with downloads starting at 7.6K, hitting a high of 28K in November, and ending at 18K. The app's active user count also saw growth, from 43K to 67K over the same period.
Lastly, Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics began the quarter with 3.9K downloads, experienced a spike to 10K in December, and concluded with a significant jump to 31K. Active users mirrored this upward trend, starting at 4.5K and reaching 24K by the end of Q4.
