Sensor Tower's data showcases how these apps have performed on the unified platform, which includes both iOS and Android. Here's a snapshot of the top 5 books applications and their performance metrics.
Audible: Audio Entertainment has maintained a strong performance throughout Q4, with revenues peaking at around $4.4M during the holiday week. Downloads saw a significant jump in the same period, reaching approximately 220K. Weekly active users fluctuated, with a high of nearly 3.1M towards the end of November.
Amazon Kindle demonstrated a consistent revenue trend, with the last week of December marking its highest revenue at about $11K. Downloads for Kindle spiked to over 250K in the same week, while weekly active users saw a substantial increase to around 4.4M.
Libby, by OverDrive saw a steady increase in downloads over the quarter, culminating in over 166K in the last week of December. Although revenue data was not applicable, active users exhibited growth, reaching over 2.6M by the quarter's end.
Goodreads: Book Reviews, which operates without generating direct revenue through the app, experienced a surge in downloads during the holiday season, with over 167K in the last week of December. The app's weekly active users also grew, hitting a peak of over 800K in the same period.
Finally, Wattpad - Read & Write Stories saw a consistent revenue stream, with a notable peak at approximately $170K in late November. Downloads for Wattpad reached over 61K in the last week of December, and active users increased to over 3.1M.
