In the fourth quarter of 2023, Australia's fast food and casual dining scene has seen varying app performance trends, according to data from Sensor Tower. Here's a look at how the top apps fared in terms of downloads and weekly active users.
MyMacca's experienced a peak in downloads early in the quarter with over 100K, which then tapered off to 21K by December. Weekly active users started strong at 782K, reaching a high of 923K in November, before dipping to 613K towards the end of December.
KFC - Order On The Go showed a steady download trend, peaking at around 34K in mid-November, but ended the quarter with a slight decrease to 17K. Active users saw a high of 259K in early October and remained above 234K throughout the quarter, indicating consistent engagement.
The Hungry Jack’s Deals & Ordering app saw downloads fluctuate, with notable spikes reaching nearly 25K in late November, but ending at 15K by Christmas. Active users mirrored this pattern, peaking at around 180K in late November and settling at 162K by the year's end.
Domino's had its highest downloads at 18K in late October, with a slight decrease to 12K by the close of the quarter. Active users hit a peak of 92K in the same period, then gradually declined to 75K in the last week of December.
Lastly, Guzman y Gomez (GYG) Mexican maintained a steady download rate, starting at 11K and closing the quarter with 8K. Weekly active users showed a similar steadiness, starting at 30K and ending slightly lower at 27K.
