In Q4 2023, the leading fitness and weight loss apps in the Netherlands demonstrated notable trends in downloads, revenue, and weekly active users. Below, we break down the performance of the top 5 apps: Strava: Run, Bike, Hike, Fitbit: Health & Fitness, MyFitnessPal: Calorie Counter, Zwift: Ride and Run, and komoot - hike, bike & run.
The app experienced a fluctuating revenue trend, starting at approximately $64K in late September and reaching around $56K by the end of December. Downloads saw a peak of 7.7K at the beginning of the quarter, dipping to 3.3K in early December, and then increasing to 5.4K by the end of the quarter. Weekly active users ranged from 230K in late September to a low of 187K in late November, rebounding to 220K by the end of December.
Revenue for Fitbit showed a generally increasing trend, starting at $26K in late September and ending at $28K in December. Downloads were relatively stable, peaking at 3.1K in the last week of December. Weekly active users fluctuated slightly, starting at 65K and ending the quarter at 62K.
The revenue for MyFitnessPal saw a slight decline from $20K in late September to $17K by the end of December. Downloads were steady with minor fluctuations, peaking at 3.2K in early October and dropping to 1.8K in mid-December. Weekly active users started at 186K and steadily decreased to 134K by the end of the quarter.
Zwift's revenue increased from $13K in late September to $18K by mid-December, with a slight dip towards the end of the quarter. Downloads remained relatively low, peaking at 980 in mid-November. Weekly active users showed a gradual increase from 3.3K in late September to 4.1K by the end of December.
Komoot's revenue fluctuated significantly, starting at $19K in late September, dropping to $5.6K in early December, and rebounding to $16K by the end of the quarter. Downloads followed a similar trend, peaking at 10K in late September and dropping to 2.3K in early December, before rising to 5.6K by the end of December. Weekly active users ranged from 130K in late September to 139K by the end of December.
