As the final quarter of 2023 wrapped up, the geolocation gaming scene in the United States saw varied performances across the leading titles. Sensor Tower provides comprehensive insights into how these games fared in terms of user engagement and financial success.
Starting with Pokémon GO, the veteran in the space, revenue showed a general decreasing trend from $4.6M in late September to around $3.1M by Christmas. Downloads fluctuated, peaking at 120K in mid-October and again in the last week of December. Weekly active users started strong at 15.1M but dipped to 13.1M by the year's end.
Newcomer Monster Hunter Now experienced a decline in revenue, starting at $652K and ending the quarter at $243K. Downloads saw a significant drop from 115K to 15K, while active users decreased from 417K to 338K, despite a brief spike in early December.
Jurassic World Alive maintained a relatively steady revenue stream, ranging between $163K and $245K. The game's downloads and active users saw slight ups and downs, with downloads reaching a high of 14K during Christmas week and active users peaking at 71K in early October.
Atlas Earth presented a mixed picture, with revenue starting at $124K and dipping to $73K in early December before climbing back up to $105K. Downloads remained fairly consistent, with a high of 33K in late October. Active users hovered around the 100K mark for most of the quarter.
Lastly, Pikmin Bloom showed a varied revenue pattern, starting at $61K and reaching a peak of $107K in early October, then closing the quarter at around $66K. Downloads were modest, with a steady decline from 12K to 7.6K. Active users experienced a rise in mid-October to 152K before settling at 121K.
