The fourth quarter of 2023 has seen significant activity in the Latin American market for music and podcast applications. Using data from Sensor Tower, we can observe the performance trends of the top five apps in this category.
YouTube Music showed a consistent increase in weekly active users, peaking at 76M in late November. Downloads also surged, hitting 346K in the final week of December. Revenue remained stable with a slight uptick towards the end of the quarter, closing at nearly $195K.
Spotify - Music and Podcasts demonstrated a growth in revenue, rising to over $203K during the holiday season. Weekly active users reached their highest at over 106M in late November, while downloads saw a significant spike to 2.4M in the same period.
Deezer: Music Player, Podcast experienced a steady revenue stream, with a notable peak of $129K in mid-December. The app's weekly active users showed fluctuations, with a high of over 6M in early November. Downloads began to decrease in December, ending the quarter at 121K.
Amazon Music: Songs & Podcasts saw a gradual increase in revenue, finishing at approximately $53K in the final week of December. Downloads had a remarkable jump to 243K, and the app's weekly active users also saw a rise, ending at over 1.6M.
TikTok Music, despite being a relatively new player, showed an upward trajectory in weekly active users, reaching 653K by the end of December. The app's revenue saw highs and lows, concluding at around $38K, while downloads experienced a peak of 95K in early November.
