In the fourth quarter of 2023, the top music and podcasts apps in Sweden showcased varied performance trends across downloads, revenue, and weekly active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.
Spotify - Music and Podcasts experienced notable fluctuations in its metrics. Revenue peaked at approximately $25K in the last week of December, while downloads surged to around 16K in the same period. Weekly active users saw a slight decline from nearly 2.28M in late September to 2.26M by the end of December, reaching a peak mid-quarter at about 2.39M.
SoundCloud: Discover New Music demonstrated a steady performance with revenue reaching around $21K in the final week of December. Downloads saw a gradual increase, peaking at approximately 6K in the last week. Weekly active users showed a downward trend, starting at over 601K and ending at around 565K.
Shazam: Find Music & Concerts maintained consistent download numbers throughout the quarter, peaking at about 5.2K in the last week of December. Weekly active users saw growth, starting at approximately 522K and climbing to around 580K by the end of the quarter.
YouTube Music displayed stable revenue figures, with earnings peaking at around $20K in the final week of December. Downloads showed an upward trend, culminating in about 3K at the end of the quarter. Weekly active users remained steady, with a slight increase from around 384K in late September to nearly 394K by the end of December.
Radio Sweden / Radio Sveriges had modest revenue, peaking at around $99 in late November. Downloads were relatively stable, with a peak of approximately 2.6K in the same period. Weekly active users fluctuated slightly, ending the quarter at about 10.5K.
