The fourth quarter of 2023 saw notable trends in the performance of the top 5 News and Magazines apps on a unified platform in the Netherlands. The following apps showed varying trends in weekly downloads, revenue, and active users, providing insights into user engagement and app monetization.
RTL Nieuws & Entertainment from RTL Nederland B.V. experienced fluctuating weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $530 in the week of December 25. The app's weekly downloads saw a significant increase, reaching around 4.9K in late November, while weekly active users showed a slight decline from 226.7K to 211.5K throughout the quarter.
NOS, published by NOS, maintained a consistent download rate, with a notable spike to approximately 14.6K in the week of November 20. The weekly active users remained stable, averaging around 600K, with a peak of 688.1K in the same week.
TVgids.nl - Dutch TV Guide showed a gradual increase in weekly downloads, peaking at 5.5K in mid-December. The app's weekly revenue remained relatively low, with minor fluctuations, reaching a maximum of $21 in early October. Active users also saw a steady rise, from 42.4K to 54.3K by the end of the quarter.
RD from Erdee Media Groep saw a consistent increase in weekly downloads, peaking at around 3.5K in the last week of December. However, no revenue data was available for this app.
AD – Nieuws, Regio en Show by DPG Media Services demonstrated a steady revenue stream, peaking at approximately $12.4K in the week of November 20. Weekly downloads showed fluctuations, with a peak of 3.9K in late October. Active users consistently hovered around 330K, with a slight increase to 352.4K in the final week of December.
