State of AI Apps Report 2025 is Live!
In the fourth quarter of 2023, the top five shopping apps in the United Kingdom showcased diverse performance trends in terms of downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at each app's journey over this period based on data from Sensor Tower.
Temu: Shop Like a Billionaire experienced significant fluctuations in weekly downloads. Starting with 425K downloads in late September, the app saw a peak of approximately 664K in mid-December. Active users for Temu also showed a steady rise, climbing from around 2.9M in late September to over 4M by the end of December.
Tesco Groceries for iPhone showed consistent download numbers throughout the quarter. Downloads increased from about 183K in late September to a peak of 267K in mid-December. Active users also remained stable, with a slight increase from 2.4M to approximately 2.5M, although there was a notable drop to 2.1M in the final week of December.
Vinted: Sell vintage clothes had a dynamic quarter with downloads peaking at 215K in mid-October before dropping to around 138K by the end of December. Active user numbers mirrored this trend, starting at 2.1M in late September, peaking slightly in October, and ending at around 2.2M in December.
SHEIN - Shopping Online saw a mixed performance in terms of downloads, beginning the quarter with 149K and peaking at 196K in early November before declining to 116K by the end of December. Active users showed a gradual decline from approximately 3.3M in late September to 3M by the end of December.
Shop: All your favorite brands had a notable increase in downloads, starting at around 67K in late September and reaching a peak of nearly 198K by late November. Active users also saw a significant rise, from 551K in late September to a peak of 839K at the end of November, before dropping to 635K by the end of December.
