During the first quarter of 2024, the top carpooling and ridesharing apps on the Android platform in Switzerland demonstrated diverse trends in downloads and active user engagement. Here's a closer look at the performance of the top five apps based on Sensor Tower data.
Uber - Request a ride started the quarter with 1.6K weekly downloads, which dipped to around 1.3K in the second week of January. The app then experienced a steady climb, reaching approximately 1.9K downloads by the end of March. The weekly active users fluctuated, beginning at 80.1K and decreasing to 69.2K in the second week, before recovering to 77.3K by the end of the quarter.
Bolt: Request a Ride saw a similar pattern. Weekly downloads started at 1.2K, dropping to 639 in mid-January, and then climbing back to 1.3K by the last week of March. Active users showed a relatively stable trend, beginning at 9.9K and ending at 10K.
BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus had a more modest performance in terms of downloads, starting with 287 and hitting a low of 215 in mid-January. The app then rebounded to 375 downloads by the end of March. Active user numbers were also lower, starting at 2.4K and ending at 2.2K, with some fluctuations throughout the quarter.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver showed consistent download numbers, beginning with 306 and slightly decreasing to 327 by the end of March. The active user count remained stable, starting at 3.6K and ending at 3.8K.
inDrive. Save on city rides had a relatively low but steady performance in weekly downloads, starting at 258 and ending at 189. The active users showed minor fluctuations, beginning at 937 and concluding at 887.
