In Q1 2024, the top five medical apps on Android in the United States showed varied performance in terms of weekly downloads and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower. Here’s a detailed look at their trends over the quarter.
MyChart saw a consistent performance in weekly downloads, starting at 57.7K in early January and peaking at 65.7K by the end of the month. Downloads remained stable around 61K to 65K in February before tapering to 56.9K by the end of March. Active users started at 1.11M, with a peak of 1.18M at the end of January, and then gradually declined to 1.07M by the end of March.
UnitedHealthcare experienced a significant drop in weekly downloads from 104.9K in the first week of January to 40K by mid-March, slightly recovering to 40.3K by the end of the quarter. Active users followed a similar trend, starting at 160K and declining to 114K by the end of March.
GoodRx: Prescription Coupons had steady weekly downloads, beginning at 48.7K and peaking at 55.6K in early February. Downloads then varied slightly, ending at 46.2K in the last week of March. The app’s active users rose from 175K at the beginning of January to 191K in mid-February, before stabilizing around 182K by the end of the quarter.
Teladoc Health: Virtual care experienced a decline in weekly downloads, starting at 52.6K and falling to 22.1K by the end of March. Active users also decreased, from 66.7K in the first week of January to 44K by the quarter's end.
Finally, Sydney Health saw a downward trend in weekly downloads, beginning at 52.5K and dropping to 18.7K by late March. Active users followed a similar pattern, starting at 95.2K and decreasing to 65.5K by the quarter's end.
