In the first quarter of 2024, the landscape of Navigation and Maps applications on Android in the United States has seen various user engagement trends, as reported by Sensor Tower.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic maintained a robust user base with weekly active users peaking at 1.2M in the last week of March. Downloads demonstrated a steady increase throughout the quarter, with the highest count reaching 66K in the same week.
Google Earth also experienced a consistent user interest, with an active user peak of 406K in the final week of March. Download numbers fluctuated, culminating in over 50K downloads in the last week of the quarter.
The application GPS, Maps, Voice Navigation showed an upward trend in revenue, with the highest weekly revenue of 1.2K USD in early March. The app's downloads and active users saw a mid-quarter spike, reaching 32K downloads and 164K active users in the first week of March.
For GPS+ Maps, Navigation, Traffic, revenue remained modest, with the highest weekly revenue hitting 158 USD in late February. Downloads saw a peak of 30K in mid-February, while active users reached their zenith at over 41K in the same period.
Lastly, Google Maps Go did not generate revenue but saw a steady engagement with a slight uptick in downloads towards the end of the quarter, reaching nearly 25K downloads. Active users steadily increased, with a peak of 52K in the last week of March.
