In the first quarter of 2024, the sandbox-like games category on the Android platform in Denmark showcased some interesting trends. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the top 5 games: Roblox, Minecraft, Minecraft Trial, Town Building Life Simulator, and Craft World - Building Craft.
Roblox from Roblox Corporation experienced fluctuations in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $17K in the first week of January and ending the quarter at about $15K. Weekly downloads saw a general upward trend, from 1.4K in early January to 1.6K by the end of March. The game maintained high engagement, with weekly active users ranging from 205K to 233K.
Minecraft by Mojang saw weekly revenue fluctuate between $1.8K and $2.6K, with a notable peak at the quarter's end. The game's weekly downloads, however, showed a significant decline, starting from 1.1K and dropping to below 100 by mid-March. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around 48K to 53K.
Minecraft Trial, also from Mojang, did not generate any revenue. The game’s downloads fluctuated slightly, reaching a high of 610 in mid-February and ending the quarter with 597. Weekly active users remained consistent, ranging from 5.6K to 6.2K.
Town Building Life Simulator by XGame Global showed minimal revenue, peaking at $10 in mid-January. Weekly downloads started strong at around 400 and saw a decrease, leveling off at approximately 290 by the end of March. Active users followed a similar trend, starting at 1.2K in early January and ending at 1K in late March.
Craft World - Building Craft had no revenue throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads saw a significant increase, peaking at 907 in mid-February before stabilizing around 524 by the end of March. Active users mirrored this growth, starting from 42 and reaching 1.1K by the end of the quarter.
