In the first quarter of 2024, the UK's Android shopping application landscape has seen varied performance among the top contenders. Data from Sensor Tower provides a comprehensive look into how these apps have fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.
Olio — Share More, Waste Less, an app encouraging food sharing to reduce waste, started the quarter with approximately 13K downloads, but saw a downward trend, ending with about 8K. Weekly active users mirrored this pattern, initiating with around 55K and decreasing to approximately 47K by the quarter's end. Revenue also experienced a decline from $3K to around $2K in the final weeks.
Shpock: Buy & Sell Marketplace witnessed a steady revenue throughout the quarter, maintaining around $1K each week. Downloads for Shpock showed a slight decrease, initiating the quarter at 1K and closing it at under 1K. Weekly active users fluctuated, starting at approximately 23K, dipping mid-quarter to around 18K, and then rising back to close to 21K.
The eufy Security app, offering smart home security solutions, experienced modest weekly revenue, starting at $1K and reaching about $1.2K. Downloads began at close to 3K and saw a mild increase to roughly 3.2K. Weekly active users started strong at 102K but saw a slight decline to 103K by the end of March.
Amazon Shopping continued to be a major player with weekly revenues holding steady at over $800. Downloads began at 29K, had a mid-quarter dip, and slightly recovered to 22K. Weekly active users showed a minor decline from 2.07M to just over 1.91M.
Lastly, HotStock - in-stock alerts had a challenging quarter. The app, designed to notify users about product availability, started with downloads at 83 and saw a drop to zero by March. Weekly active users decreased from 1.1K to 621, and revenue saw a slight upward trend from $781 to $565.
