In the first quarter of 2024, the Tower Defense category on iOS has seen varied performance across its leading titles. Sensor Tower provides a comprehensive look at how these games have fared in the US market.
Plants vs. Zombies™ 2 from PopCap showed a steady trend in weekly active users, starting at 234K and peaking at 254K in late January before settling at around 239K. Downloads fluctuated around the 35K to 43K mark, while revenue saw a significant jump from $60K to $90K in the last week of March.
Electronic Arts' Plants vs. Zombies™ experienced a slight decrease in active users from 187K to 184K, with downloads peaking at 34K in late March. Revenue remained relatively low, ranging from $2K to just under $2K.
The game Kingdom Guard:Tower Defense TD by TAP4FUN (HONGKONG) LIMITED saw a significant rise in revenue, starting the quarter at $348K and skyrocketing to $584K by the end of March. Downloads showed an impressive increase from 20K to over 81K, and weekly active users more than tripled from 32K to over 119K.
Netflix, Inc.'s Bloons TD 6 NETFLIX, despite generating no revenue, maintained a strong user base with active users beginning at 142K and growing to 162K. Downloads hovered between 21K and 29K throughout the quarter.
Lastly, Rush Royale: Tower Defense TD from MY.GAMES B.V. saw an upward trend in revenue, climbing from $212K to $233K. The game's downloads remained fairly consistent, with a slight peak at 23K, and active users ranged from 240K to 232K, ending the quarter at a solid 240K.
