As the first quarter of 2024 wraps up, we're taking a look at the performance of the top wellness apps on iOS in the United States, with data provided by Sensor Tower. The wellness category continues to be a significant presence on the App Store, with millions of users looking to apps to aid in their mental and physical health routines.
Calm maintained a strong performance this quarter, with revenues peaking at nearly $1.15M in the second week of January and averaging around $900K weekly. Downloads showed a slight decline from 63K in the first week to 40K by the end of March. Weekly active users started at 1.1M and saw a dip to just below 1M by the quarter's end.
Headspace: Sleep & Meditation also showed consistent revenue, with a peak at nearly $480K in mid-January, and a gradual decrease to around $320K by late March. Download numbers hovered around 14K-20K, with weekly active users seeing a slight decline from 418K to 357K throughout the quarter.
ShutEye®: Sleep Tracker, Sound saw its revenue fluctuate, with a notable peak at $402K in mid-February and averaging around $300K in subsequent weeks. The app experienced a significant download count at the start of the year with 255K, which tapered off to around 152K by the end of March. Its weekly active users showed a downward trend from 303K to 247K.
Hatch Sleep had an interesting revenue spike to $642K in the third week of January, with the rest of the quarter averaging around $230K. Downloads for the app stayed within the 20K-41K range, and weekly active users remained stable, starting at 768K and growing to 814K by the end of March.
BetterSleep: Relax and Sleep generated revenues with a high of $271K in early March, and a low of $201K at the end of January. Downloads peaked at 123K in the first week of January, with a decline to 89K in the last week of March. Weekly active users began at 556K and saw a growth to 560K by quarter's end.
