Australian foodies have been actively engaging with dining and restaurant apps in the first quarter of 2024, as evidenced by the latest data from Sensor Tower. Here's a snapshot of how the top apps in this category have fared on the unified platform.
Seed Oil Scout: Healthy Dining showed a significant fluctuation in downloads, peaking at 572K in late January before dropping to zero in early February. Weekly active users (WAUs) saw a steady increase, starting at 343K and reaching a high of 749K in mid-March. Revenue trends were also volatile, with a notable spike to $559K at the end of January.
Untappd - Discover Beer maintained consistent download numbers throughout the quarter, hovering around 230K to 290K. Its WAUs showed a gradual increase, starting at 2.7M and ending the quarter near 3M. Revenue for Untappd remained relatively stable, ranging from $80K to $180K on a weekly basis.
The Secret Menu for Starbucks! app experienced a sharp decline in downloads after the first week of January, with no downloads recorded for several weeks. WAUs declined from 75K to 26K over the quarter. Revenue remained modest, with weekly figures generally between $21K and $39K.
Secret Menu for Starbucks VIP had negligible activity in terms of downloads and WAUs, with no data available for the latter part of the quarter. Revenue was minimal and ceased entirely after mid-February.
Lastly, TERIYAKI showed no downloads or WAUs throughout the quarter, and revenue was negligible before disappearing completely.
