The first quarter of 2024 showcased interesting trends for the top 5 finance apps in the United Kingdom, based on data from Sensor Tower. Here’s a closer look at their performance on a unified platform.
Revolut: Spend, Save, Trade showed a varied trend in weekly downloads, starting the quarter with around 72K and experiencing a peak of approximately 84K in mid-March. Weekly active users displayed a consistent upward trend, beginning at 1.5M and peaking at around 1.78M in early March.
HMRC experienced a significant spike in downloads, particularly in the weeks of January 22 and March 18, reaching around 84K and 93K, respectively. Active users also saw a rise, starting at 126K and peaking at approximately 179K in March.
Monzo - Mobile Banking maintained a steady download rate, with numbers hovering around 60K to 70K throughout the quarter. Active users remained stable, fluctuating slightly but staying around the 2.8M mark, with a minor peak of approximately 2.9M in late January.
PayPal - Send, Shop, Manage saw a steady increase in downloads, notably peaking at around 81K in the final week of March. Active users showed some variability but generally hovered around 1.4M to 1.5M, with a slight decline observed mid-quarter.
Google Wallet experienced a consistent rise in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 63K in the last week of March. Active users also saw a significant increase from around 900K at the start of the quarter to over 2.4M by the end of March.
