The first quarter of 2024 has shown interesting trends in the UK food delivery services app market. According to data provided by Sensor Tower, we can see how the top five apps have fared in terms of downloads and weekly active users.
Starting with Too Good To Go: End Food Waste, the app saw its downloads peak early in January at 104K, before gradually decreasing to 59K by the end of March. Weekly active users started strong at 774K and saw a high of 804K in late February, maintaining a relatively stable trend around the 750K mark towards the end of the quarter.
Just Eat - Food Delivery experienced a slight fluctuation in downloads, starting at 55K, dipping to 44K, and then rising again to 49K by March. The app's active users showed more resilience, with an impressive spike to 1.25M in early February and late March after starting the quarter at around 1.24M.
Deliveroo: Food Delivery App downloads hovered between 40K and 47K throughout the quarter, with weekly active users showcasing a strong start at 2.09M, peaking at 2.21M in mid-February, and closing the quarter with a robust 2.14M active users.
For Uber Eats: Food Delivery, downloads remained fairly consistent, ranging from 41K to 47K. The weekly active users count for Uber Eats started at the highest among the apps with 2.65M, peaking at 2.71M in late January and late February, but experienced a dip to 2.57M by the end of March.
Lastly, HelloFresh: Meal Kit Delivery saw a downward trend in downloads, starting the quarter at 30K and ending at 12K. The weekly active users for HelloFresh also decreased from 177K at the beginning of January to 133K by the end of March.
