Latin America's food delivery market remains competitive, and the first quarter of 2024 has seen varied performance among the top players. Here's a look at how five key services fared, with data sourced from Sensor Tower.
The quarter started strong for iFood with downloads peaking at 400K in mid-February, followed by a dip to around 290K by the end of March. Weekly active users showed more stability, maintaining a base of over 11M throughout the quarter, with a notable spike to nearly 12M in mid-February.
PedidosYa's download figures fluctuated, reaching their highest at 290K in the last week of March. The weekly active users for PedidosYa also saw growth, starting at around 4.5M in the new year and closing the quarter with 4.8M active users.
Rappi experienced modest revenue, rounding out at 28K USD by the end of March. Its downloads showed a zigzag pattern, dipping to 177K in mid-March before climbing back to over 200K. The app's active users consistently increased throughout the quarter from 4M to over 4.2M.
Uber Eats saw a steady climb in downloads from 103K in early March to over 115K by the quarter's end. Weekly active users for Uber Eats also grew, reaching 1.6M in the last week of March from a starting point of around 1.5M.
This app, targeting delivery drivers, had its highest number of downloads in mid-January at nearly 70K, but ended the quarter at around 49K. Active users peaked at over 260K in late February, with a slight decrease to approximately 247K by the end of March.
