The first quarter of 2024 saw interesting trends for the top 5 music and podcast apps in Algeria. Here’s a detailed look at their performance.
Deezer: Music Player, Podcast experienced a notable increase in weekly revenue, peaking at around $196 in mid-February. Weekly downloads varied slightly, reaching a high of 686 in the last week of February. Active users showed a fluctuating trend, starting at 17.5K in early January and ending at 12.3K by the end of March.
Anghami: Play Music & Podcasts had a volatile revenue performance, peaking at $95 at the end of February. Download numbers started strong with over 5K in the first week of January but declined to about 2.2K by the end of March. Active users also saw a decline from 372K in early January to 267K by the end of the quarter.
TuneIn Radio: Music & Sports showed modest weekly revenue, staying between $28 and $38 throughout the quarter. Downloads were inconsistent, peaking at 373 in mid-January and dropping to lows of around 39 in February. Active users fluctuated, starting at 258 and ending at 332 by the end of March.
Spotify - Music and Podcasts maintained a steady revenue trend, peaking at $44 in the last week of March. Downloads were high, especially in early March with a peak of almost 30K. Active users remained relatively stable, with a slight decline from 338K in early January to 268K by the end of March.
YouTube Music had a varied revenue performance, peaking at $44 in the first week of March. Downloads were steady, starting at 9.5K in early January and decreasing to 4.8K by the end of March. Active users maintained a strong presence, starting at 87.6K and slightly increasing to 88.6K by the end of the quarter.
