In Q1 2024, the top 5 navigation and maps applications in the United States showed varied performance trends in terms of downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at how each app fared during the quarter.
Google Maps maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads fluctuating between approximately 335K and 397K. Active users exhibited stability, ranging from around 24.6M to 25.4M, peaking at 25.4M in mid-March.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw weekly downloads vary from about 165K to 216K. The app’s active user base grew from 8.6M at the start of January to 9.2M by the end of March, with notable peaks in early March and late March.
Google Earth experienced consistent weekly downloads, starting around 130K and rising to a peak of 151K by the end of the quarter. Active users ranged from approximately 944K to 1.04M, with incremental increases throughout the period.
GPS Map Navigation showed modest growth in weekly downloads, beginning at 32K and fluctuating around this mark. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering between 133K and 167K. The app generated weekly revenues between $700 and $1.3K, peaking in early February and early March.
Neshan Map recorded weekly downloads ranging from 19K to 30K, with a peak in mid-March. Active users steadily increased from 75K at the beginning of January to 124K by the end of March.
