In Q1 2024, the top 5 news apps in Israel saw varied performance across downloads, revenue, and active users, as revealed by Sensor Tower data. Here’s a closer look at how each app fared during this period.
X from X Corp. exhibited a notable trend in weekly revenue, starting at approximately $4.7K in the first week of January and peaking at around $9.3K by the end of March. Weekly downloads showed a significant increase mid-quarter, with a high of about 10K in the week of February 5. Active users remained relatively stable, starting at 908K in early January and fluctuating slightly to end the quarter at around 894K.
The mako app from Keshet Broadcasting Ltd. saw a dramatic spike in weekly downloads, reaching a peak of 26K in the week of February 5. Active users for the mako app started at 45.6K in the first week of January, climbing to a high of 63.2K in early February, before settling at approximately 43.2K by the end of March.
Reddit experienced a steady increase in revenue, peaking at $348 in mid-February, but saw a decline towards the end of March, ending at $90. Weekly downloads reached a high of 3.7K in early February. Active users showed consistent growth, starting at 91.6K in early January and ending the quarter at about 99.4K.
Israel Home Front Command maintained steady weekly downloads, with numbers fluctuating between 450 and 3.4K throughout the quarter. Active users started at 75.4K in the first week of January and saw a gradual decline, ending at approximately 64.7K by the end of March.
Finally, חמ״ל - חדשות מתפרצות בזמן אמת from Mintmark LTD saw its weekly downloads peak at 4.2K in the first week of January and fluctuate throughout the quarter, ending at around 2.5K. Active users started at 27.9K and experienced a slight decline, settling at about 19.9K by the end of March.
