The first quarter of 2024 saw varying performance trends for the top 5 social apps in Venezuela. Here’s a detailed look at how TikTok, Chamet - Live Video Chat, Tango - Live Stream, Video Chat, Bigo Live - Live Streaming App, and Instagram performed.
TikTok experienced a notable decline in weekly downloads, starting from around 251K in early January and falling to approximately 115K by early March. However, there was a surge to 164K in the last week of March. The app's weekly revenue fluctuated, peaking at $2.3K in late January and dropping to around $1.4K by mid-March. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 3.7M, with a slight increase to 3.8M by the end of the quarter.
Chamet - Live Video Chat saw modest weekly download numbers, ranging from 2.7K to 1.8K throughout the quarter. Weekly revenue showed a gradual increase, reaching up to $399 in late January, before stabilizing around $300. Active users fluctuated, starting at 8.5K and ending the quarter at 8.7K.
Tango - Live Stream, Video Chat had a varied performance in downloads, peaking at 2.6K in late January and ending at 2.6K again in the last week of March. Revenue showed a downward trend from $460 in mid-January to around $208 by mid-March, with a slight uptick to $290 at the end of the quarter. Active users increased from 14.4K to 16.8K over the same period.
Bigo Live - Live Streaming App showed a strong start in weekly downloads, peaking at 14K in mid-January before declining to around 6.3K in early March and then rising to 8.2K by the end of the quarter. Revenue peaked at $562 in mid-February but generally remained below $200 for most of the quarter. Active users saw consistent growth, starting at 80K and reaching around 90K by the end of March.
Instagram maintained steady download numbers, fluctuating between 128K and 82K throughout the quarter. Revenue remained relatively stable, averaging around $200 per week. Active users showed a slight increase from 4.9M to 5.1M over the same period.
