In the first quarter of 2024, the top 5 social apps in Egypt demonstrated diverse performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at how these apps fared:
TikTok Weekly downloads for TikTok varied significantly, starting strong with 597K in the first week of January and peaking at 841K by the week of January 22. However, there was a noticeable decline towards the end of the quarter, with downloads dropping to 297K by the last week of March. Revenue for TikTok started at approximately $97K in the first week but saw a general downward trend, closing the quarter at around $35K. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 14.9M and 16M throughout the quarter.
Facebook Facebook maintained a steady download rate, with weekly downloads ranging from 230K to 397K. Revenue showed some fluctuations, peaking at $10.5K in late February but dropping to $5.4K by the end of March. Active users for Facebook remained robust, starting the quarter at 44.6M and slightly increasing to 44.8M by the last week of March.
Instagram Instagram saw a varied download trend, beginning the quarter with 389K downloads and experiencing a steady decline to around 199K by the end of March. Revenue peaked at $13.8K in late January but decreased to approximately $5.4K by the last week of March. Active users for Instagram remained consistent, fluctuating between 11.1M and 11.8M.
Baaz Baaz showed a steady increase in downloads, starting the quarter with 87K and peaking at 123K in mid-February. Active users, however, saw a gradual decline from 14K at the beginning of January to 10.6K by the end of March.
Threads Threads experienced a consistent download trend, beginning with 87K in the first week of January and reaching up to 114K by mid-February. Active users saw a significant increase, starting at 1.1M and peaking at 1.74M by the last week of March.
