Social networking applications continue to be an integral part of digital interaction, and their performance metrics are a clear indicator of their impact and user preferences. Here's how the top apps fared in the US during the first quarter of 2024, according to Sensor Tower data.
Life360: Find Friends & Family observed a steady revenue trend throughout the quarter, with a peak of approximately $2.7M in the last week of February. Downloads showed an upward trajectory, closing the quarter with around 326K, while weekly active users saw a peak of 28M at the end of January.
Grindr - Gay Dating & Chat revenue fluctuated, with a notable increase to nearly $2M by the end of February. The app's downloads peaked at almost 40K in the last week of March, and weekly active users reached a high of 1.46M mid-January, but later dipped to around 1.35M by the end of March.
BIGO LIVE-Live Stream, Go Live revenue experienced growth, reaching over $1.8M in both the last week of February and the first week of March. Downloads remained fairly consistent, with a slight increase to 140K in the second week of March. Weekly active users hovered around 1.3M throughout the quarter.
Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out showed a revenue increase towards the end of February, achieving over $1.5M. Downloads maintained a steady pace, ending the quarter with about 332K. As for engagement, weekly active users were solid, remaining above 37M for the entirety of the quarter.
BLK - Dating for Black singles saw its revenue peak at approximately $889K in the last week of February. Downloads had a slight uptick to around 42K in the same week. Active users experienced a modest rise, peaking at 565K towards the end of February.
