Social networking apps continue to engage users across the United Kingdom, and Q1 2024 has seen varied trends in downloads and active users. Here's a snapshot of how the top 5 social networking applications performed on the unified platform.
Threads, an Instagram app saw its downloads start at 175K in the first week of January and peak at 227K by mid-March, with fluctuations throughout the quarter. Weekly active users experienced a steady increase from 1.25M to 1.65M.
WhatsApp Messenger had a modest decrease in downloads from 183K to 132K by the end of March. However, the weekly active users showed a consistently strong presence, slightly increasing from 53.3M to 53.8M.
Telegram Messenger not only witnessed a steady download range between 104K and 129K but also a slightly increasing revenue trend, starting at $39K in the first week and reaching $55K by late February. Active users hovered around 2.6M throughout the quarter.
For Facebook, downloads showed an upward trend from 98K in early January to a peak of 174K in early March, while revenue also saw a rising pattern, ending the quarter at $98K. Weekly active users remained fairly stable, with a slight decrease from 35.5M to 35M.
Lastly, Messenger experienced varied downloads, starting at 87K and reaching a high of 139K in mid-March, while revenue saw a modest increase from $2K to $3K. Active users showed a slight decline from 20.9M to 20.3M.
