In Q1 2024, the top social networking apps in Ireland demonstrated dynamic performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at the data from Sensor Tower.
Threads saw a fluctuating trend in weekly downloads, starting at 15.8K in the first week of January and dipping to 7.8K by the end of the month. However, downloads picked up again, reaching almost 13.2K in mid-February and stabilizing around 11K by the end of March. Active users grew consistently, starting at 60.5K and reaching over 102K by the end of the quarter.
WhatsApp Messenger maintained steady weekly downloads, ranging from 8K to 10.6K throughout the quarter. Active users remained robust, hovering around 3.05M to 3.11M, showing slight but steady growth over the period.
Facebook experienced a significant spike in weekly downloads, particularly in late February, reaching a peak of 21.8K. Downloads dropped afterward but maintained a steady rate of around 7K towards the end of March. The app’s revenue peaked at approximately $5.9K in the first week of February but gradually declined to $3.8K by the end of the quarter. Active users saw a slight decline from 1.75M to about 1.71M.
Telegram Messenger also showed consistent performance in weekly downloads, averaging around 6.5K. The app's revenue saw an upward trend mid-quarter, peaking at $3.5K in the week of February 19. Active users grew from 153.6K to approximately 160.4K by the end of March.
ten ten - close friends only had a dramatic increase in weekly downloads, starting with just 76 in the first week of January and skyrocketing to 12.3K by the end of March. Active users followed a similar trend, growing from 379 to over 12K within the quarter.
