In the first quarter of 2024, the US mobile gaming market witnessed interesting trends in the tycoon game category. Sensor Tower's latest data provides insights into the performance of top applications on the unified platform.
Playrix's Township showed a peak in revenue at nearly $5.6M in mid-January, with a subsequent dip to around $3.8M by the end of February. Downloads spiked to nearly 400K in the third week of February, while weekly active users (WAUs) saw a high of 1.2M in the first week of January, maintaining above 1.1M throughout the quarter.
SayGames LTD's My Perfect Hotel experienced a revenue trend that started at approximately $170K and declined to about $85K by the end of March. Downloads began at 383K and saw a gradual decrease to 184K, with WAUs also reducing from 1.3M to 825K during the same period.
VIZOR APPS LTD's Klondike Adventures: Farm Game reported a revenue increase, peaking at over $1M by late February. Downloads reached over 100K in late January, and WAUs grew to 226K by the end of March, showing a positive engagement trend.
Melsoft's Family Island — Farming game saw revenues fluctuating, with a high of over $1.5M in late January. Downloads were highest at the start of January with 107K and tapered off to 57K. WAUs remained fairly steady, starting at 321K and ending the quarter at 251K.
Tilting Point LLC's SpongeBob Adventures: In A Jam, despite being the newest entry, showed a revenue uptick from $75K to nearly $130K by the end of March. Downloads saw the highest numbers in early January at 65K, while WAUs climbed impressively from 137K to 197K, indicating growing player retention.
