State of AI Apps Report 2025 is Live!
The first quarter of 2024 has shown us interesting trends for the top utilities apps in the United Kingdom. Data from Sensor Tower offers a glimpse into how these applications are performing on the unified platform, encompassing both iOS and Android data.
Google downloads started at 69K in the first week of January and saw a peak at 86K by the end of February. Weekly active users began at 15.5M, with slight fluctuations, ending the quarter at 15.3M.
The GOV.UK ID Check app showed a spike in downloads, jumping from 59K in the first week of January to a high of 133K by the end of the month. Weekly active users increased from 615K to 757K in the same period.
For Google Chrome, downloads were consistent, beginning at 50K and reaching a high of 54K in early March. The app maintained a robust active user base, starting at 27.3M and slightly increasing to 27.3M by the end of March.
Octopus Energy experienced a notable rise in downloads, from 24K in the first week to a peak of 92K in mid-March. Active users showed a steady growth from 467K to 625K during the first two months, ending the quarter at 591K.
Microsoft Edge: AI Browser also had an interesting quarter. Downloads surged from 32K to a high of 97K in mid-March. The app's revenue, though modest, grew from $114 to $273 in February. Weekly active users climbed from 1.2M to a peak of 1.5M in the third week of March.
