The Q2 2024 landscape for carpooling and ridesharing apps on Android saw varied user engagement and download trends. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, highlights the performance of key players in the US market.
Bolt: Request a Ride maintained steady growth in downloads, starting the quarter with approximately 2.5K downloads and peaking at nearly 3.2K by the end of June. Weekly active users saw an upward trend, beginning at around 44.5K and reaching over 53K.
Uber - Request a ride experienced a fluctuating download pattern but ended the quarter on a high note with over 2.8K downloads in the last week of June. The app's weekly active users remained robust, starting at 92.8K and closing the quarter with 95.8K, indicating a stable user base.
The app for drivers, Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver, showed lower download numbers compared to its rider counterpart, ranging from 233 downloads at the start of April to 268 by June's end. Weekly active users mirrored this modest activity, hovering around 3.5K throughout the quarter.
Yandex Go — taxi and delivery saw the least number of downloads among the top apps, with figures slightly increasing from 164 to 227 over the quarter. Active users remained relatively flat, staying within the 600s for the majority of the period.
Lastly, inDrive. Save on city rides observed a gentle rise in downloads, from 166 to 245, and a corresponding increase in weekly active users, starting at 1.5K and ending at 1.7K.
