In the second quarter of 2024, the fitness and weight loss application landscape on Android saw varied trends across key players. Sensor Tower provides a closer look at how these apps performed in terms of downloads, revenue, and user activity.
Lifesum Food Tracker & Fasting showed a consistent revenue trend with figures hovering around $9K to $10K weekly, peaking at nearly $10K in the first week of April. Downloads saw a gradual decrease from 1.7K to 893, while weekly active users experienced a slight increase from 25K to nearly 28K before dipping to 25K by the end of June.
Strava: Run, Bike, Hike demonstrated an upward trajectory in revenue, starting at $7K and reaching over $9K by June, with a significant spike to $10K mid-May. Downloads varied, with a peak at 1.3K in late April and a steady figure of over 1K towards the end of the quarter. Active users remained stable, starting at 19K and growing to peak at 21K before settling around 20K.
Fitbit also saw a revenue increase from $5.7K to over $10K in the final week of June. Download numbers were modest, ranging from 384 to 289, while active users showed a slight decline from 31K to 30K over the quarter.
StrengthLog – Workout Tracker had a fluctuating revenue pattern, with a notable rise to $4.7K in late April before a drop to $3.1K in early June, and a recovery to nearly $4K by the quarter's end. Downloads saw a spike to 1K in the second week of April, followed by a general downward trend. Active user data for StrengthLog was not provided.
WeightWatchers Program had its revenue oscillating between $2.1K and $3.1K. Downloads remained below 400 throughout the quarter, with a peak at 350 in late May. Weekly active users showcased a slight growth from 5.1K to 5.4K, ending the quarter with nearly 5K active users.
