As the second quarter of 2024 comes to a close, we're taking a closer look at the performance of the top personal finance budgeting and planning applications on Android in the United States. Sensor Tower's data provides us with a snapshot of how these apps have fared over the past three months.
Wallet: Budget Expense Tracker has shown a consistent revenue trend with numbers ranging from $80K to $240K. Downloads peaked at 178K in late April but later settled to around 84K by late June. Weekly active users started strong at 2.7M, saw a dip mid-quarter, and ended at 2.3M.
Splitwise experienced a revenue range between $85K to $151K. Downloads surged to 1.95M in early June, arguably the most significant growth among the apps. The app's weekly active users reflected an initial decline but rebounded to 6.7M by the end of the quarter.
YNAB's revenue fluctuated throughout the quarter, peaking at $156K in early May. Downloads showed a steady increase, reaching 87K in the last week of June. Active users displayed a similar trend, starting at 416K and rising to 480K.
Fast Budget - Expense Manager's revenue numbers varied, with the highest at $107K in early April. Downloads hit a high of 458K in late April and ended at 189K. The app's weekly active users saw a slight decrease from 3.5M to 3.1M over the quarter.
Spendee Budget & Money Tracker showed modest revenue, peaking at $75K in late May. Downloads reached their highest at 74K in the same period, while weekly active users saw a steady increase, ending the quarter at 221K.
In summary, the second quarter of 2024 has seen varying trends across the top budgeting and planning apps on Android. While some apps experienced peaks in downloads and user activity, revenue trends remained relatively steady.
