In the second quarter of 2024, the US Android market for personal finance applications saw varying trends in downloads, revenue, and weekly active users. Sensor Tower's analysis offers detailed insights into the performance of the top budgeting and planning apps.
Splitwise, a longstanding favorite, observed a slight downward trend in weekly revenue, ending the quarter at $41K. Downloads remained relatively stable, with a slight decline from 550K in the first week to 439K. Weekly active users started at 2.65M but dipped to 2.56M by the quarter's end.
For Money manager & expenses, revenue fluctuated modestly, starting at $10K and ending at $10K. Downloads peaked at 437K in early May, but saw a decline to 313K by late June. Weekly active users followed a similar pattern, decreasing from 6.05M to 5.53M.
The Budget planner—Expense tracker app showed a gradual increase in revenue, from $3K at the start of April to $7K by the end of June. Downloads saw a significant jump in late April at 379K, followed by a general stabilization around 311K. Weekly active users grew impressively from 227K to 442K over the quarter.
Tricount - Split group bills experienced a decrease in revenue, ending at $8K compared to the $16K at the quarter's start. Downloads also decreased, from 283K to 201K. Weekly active users saw a decline from 1.34M to 1.09M.
Lastly, Money Manager Expense & Budget by Realbyte Inc. showed mixed results. Revenue remained fairly consistent, ending at $22K. Downloads varied, peaking at 266K in early June but falling to 122K. The weekly active users saw an increase mid-quarter to 1.56M but dropped to 1.18M by the end of June.
