In the second quarter of 2024, the iOS platform saw varied performance across the top carpooling and ridesharing applications in the United States. Data from Sensor Tower provides insights into downloads and weekly active users for these services.
Uber - Request a ride maintained its popularity with downloads increasing from 2.2K in the first week of April to 3.6K by the end of June. Weekly active users also showed an upward trend, starting at 101K in the first week of April and reaching nearly 124K by the end of June.
Bolt: Request a Ride experienced a steady increase in downloads, with numbers rising from 1.8K to nearly 3K over the quarter. Weekly active users for Bolt saw growth as well, beginning at approximately 6.2K and ending the quarter with 7.7K.
BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus had a modest presence in comparison, with downloads starting at 249 and peaking at 416 in the last week of June. Active users saw a slight fluctuation, with a low of 2K in early June and a rebound to 2.4K by the quarter's end.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver showed less variation in downloads, hovering around the low hundreds throughout the quarter. Weekly active users had a slight uptick from 2.3K in the first week of April to 2.6K in the last week of June.
Lastly, Careem – rides, food & more had the lowest download figures among the top apps, with numbers declining from 103 in the first week of April to 76 by the end of June. Active users peaked at 526 in mid-April but dipped to 357 by the end of the quarter.
