The second quarter of 2024 saw notable activity among the top dating apps in Europe on the iOS platform. Here's a closer look at the performance of the leading five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Tinder Dating App: Chat & Date had a strong quarter with revenue starting at approximately $3.8M in early April and peaking at nearly $4.9M by mid-June. Downloads showed a consistent range, beginning at 116K in the first week of April and slightly increasing to 125K by mid-June. The app maintained a steady level of weekly active users, fluctuating around the 3.8M mark throughout the quarter.
Bumble Dating App: Meet & Date also performed well, with revenue growing from about $1.1M at the start of April to around $1.3M by the end of June. Downloads were stable, ranging from 70K to 83K over the quarter. Bumble's weekly active users hovered just under 1M, showing a minor decline towards the end of June.
Azar: Video Chat & Meet People saw consistent revenue growth, starting at $558K in early April and reaching $678K by the end of June. Downloads were relatively steady, with a noticeable increase from 55K to 65K during the quarter. Weekly active users for Azar showed a slight upward trend, increasing from 414K to 442K.
Grindr - Gay Dating & Chat experienced steady revenue, starting at $566K in early April and growing to $656K by late June. Downloads remained stable, staying within the range of 16K to 18K. The app's weekly active users stayed around the 510K mark, with minor fluctuations throughout the quarter.
Hinge Dating App: Match & Meet showed impressive revenue growth, starting at $536K in early April and reaching $633K by the end of June. Downloads for Hinge were consistent, ranging from 65K to 72K. The app's weekly active users increased from 840K to 898K over the quarter, indicating a growing user base.
