In Q2 2024, the top five food and diet tracking apps on iOS in the United States showcased varied performance metrics, including revenue, downloads, and weekly active users. Here’s a closer look at their performance based on data from Sensor Tower.
MyFitnessPal: Calorie Counter saw a consistent revenue stream, beginning the quarter with approximately $2.2M and peaking at around $2.2M towards mid-June. Downloads fluctuated, starting at 89K in early April and reaching a high of 101K in the first week of June. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 2.9M, with slight dips and peaks throughout the quarter.
The WeightWatchers Program experienced a revenue peak of approximately $620K at the end of April, while downloads showed a gradual decline from 12K in early April to around 8K by the end of June. Weekly active users saw some fluctuation, starting at 104K and ending at a similar level, with minor variations in between.
Lose It! – Calorie Counter had a notable revenue peak of around $624K in the second week of April but saw a decrease to $546K by the end of June. Downloads were relatively stable, with a slight drop from 39K in early April to 33K in late June. Weekly active users remained steady, averaging around 1M throughout the quarter.
Noom: Healthy Weight Loss Plan showed steady revenue growth, peaking at $249K at the end of April and maintaining around $208K by the end of June. Downloads varied slightly, starting at 13K and ending at 11K. Active users hovered around 300K, with a notable increase to 350K in mid-May.
Lastly, MacroFactor - Macro Tracker had a revenue peak of approximately $155K in the second week of April and maintained around $153K by the end of June. Downloads saw a significant jump from 12K in early April to 17K by the end of June. Weekly active users increased steadily, starting at 82K and rising to 108K by the end of the quarter.
