During the second quarter of 2024, the iOS platform in Cyprus saw significant activity in the navigation and maps category. The top five apps—Waze Navigation & Live Traffic, Google Maps, Google Earth, Sygic GPS Navigation & Maps, and Radarbot: Speed Cameras | GPS—demonstrated varying trends in terms of downloads and revenue.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a fluctuating download pattern, starting the quarter with over 1.6K weekly downloads and peaking at around 1.9K by the end of April. Despite a dip to just over 1K downloads in late May, the app finished strong with a resurgence to approximately 1.4K weekly downloads by the end of June.
Google Maps maintained a relatively stable download rate throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads hovered around 1.4K at the beginning of April, with a noticeable spike to 1.57K in the week of April 22. The app saw some fluctuations but generally remained above 1.1K downloads, closing the quarter with 1.3K downloads.
Google Earth had the lowest download numbers among the top five but showed steady growth. Starting at 294 weekly downloads, the app saw a slight decline mid-quarter but recovered to reach its highest download count of 308 in the last week of June.
Sygic GPS Navigation & Maps showed a more dynamic revenue trend. Weekly revenue saw a significant increase from $7 in early April to a peak of $63 by mid-May. Although there were fluctuations, the app maintained a generally upward revenue trend, closing the quarter with $32 in the last week of June. Download numbers for Sygic GPS were modest but consistent, ranging between 61 and 120 weekly downloads throughout the quarter.
Radarbot: Speed Cameras | GPS had a notable performance in both downloads and revenue. The app's weekly downloads peaked at 151 in late April and remained fairly stable around 70-100 downloads for the rest of the quarter. Revenue also showed an interesting pattern, with peaks and troughs throughout the quarter, reaching up to $47 in late April and maintaining an average of around $20 towards the end of June.
